Mount Union completed a perfect season (15-0) by defeating Wisconsin-Whitewater 31-26. Mount Union QB Greg Micheli was 12-19 for 262 yards and two touchdown passes to WR Cecil Shorts who hauled in 7 receptions for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns. This was Mount Union's 10th DIII Football National Championship, all in the past 16 seasons.
