UCLA defeated Hawaii by a score of 3-2. Hawaii was led by the tournament?s Most Outstanding Player, Yuval Katz. The victory gave the Bruins their second consecutive national title, and was part of five championships in eight years. Hawaii was making an appearance in the title game for the very first time. UCLA, coached by Al Scates, finished their season with a record of 26-5.
