North Carolina defeated UCLA by a score of 2-1. The game was closely played throughout, but the Tar Heels finally took over on the strength of Meredith Florance's goal with less than 15 minutes remaining and Leslie Gaston's goal off of a Bruin defender with nine minutes remaining. The win gave North Carolina their second consecutive national title and was part of 13 titles in 15 years.
