1985 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer National Championship - UCLA vs. American
UCLA defeated American by a score of 1-0 in eight overtime periods. The record-setting game, played at the Kingdome in Seattle, Washington, lasted 166 minutes and five seconds. The game-winning goal was scored by Andy Burke, a rarely used defender. The far-post shot was not only the game-winner, but also Burke's first as a Bruin. Coach Sigi Schmid led the Bruins to their first ever title.
